The Internet is one of the best inventions of our lifetime. The Internet offers many advantages to consumers, businesses and any other end users. From banking to shopping and Internet dating the Internet has made many new advantages for everyone even people who do not directly use it.

Business Advantages:

The Internet has made many advantages for businesses. Consumers can now find information about almost any business. Contact numbers, store locations, hours of business and inventory can all be found within minutes. Businesses can focus employees on other task instead of answers phones and answering common questions. Some businesses operate entirely on the Internet without ever having a physical building for customers to shop in. Stocks are traded through many online web sites which has made it easier for even the least inclined person to join in the stock market.

Consumer Advantages:

Consumers are now able to shop online and never have to leave their house. A major advantage of the Internet is the fact that you can comparison shop several local stores to get the best price. Most major store will even let you check the inventory level to make sure the item is in stock before you leave to get it. Some site will let you reserve or order the item before hand as well. Twenty years ago if a shop didn’t have your specific item in stock, you had to go to the store, get the store to order it and wait a few weeks. Today most stores will allow you to order the item directly from the source and do expedited shipping for a small cost.

End User Advantages:

I consider an End User as someone using the Internet for a purpose other than a Business or Consumer standpoint. Finding a date online is now easier with sites such as match.com and e-harmony.com. Online bill paying and banking is a huge advantage for the End User. Sites like myspace.com and facebook.com offer ways for friend to stay in touch and to reconnect with friends from the past. Medical and legal advice can be found online at a reasonable rate. Just be wary where the information is coming from. Children who are having a hard time studying can find tutors on the Internet for a reasonable price as well.

There are many more advantages to the Internet. These that I listed are the ones I have the most experience with. The Internet is still evolving and there will be plenty more advantages to come.
