On Facebook there are many privacy settings. Privacy settings are important so that you can choose who you want to see what information on your profile, or even know when you are online. You have the options to appear offline or online in the chat application as well as blocking certain people from viewing your content or contacting you. Both of these options are fairly easy to use, as well as reverse.
Choosing to block and unblock someone can be done in your privacy settings. If you log into your Facebook account, on the main toolbar on the webpage is the button for Account. When you click on this button, a drop-down list will appear. Click on Privacy Settings, and it will bring you to a new page. On the new page, it will give you options to who can see different parts of your content. There may be family photos that are precious to you, and this will allow you to change who can actually view them.
At the bottom of the page, it shows the heading Block Lists, and gives you the options to Edit your lists. This will allow you to make changes. Click on this link and a new page will come up. To block someone, simply input their name in the box and click to block them. Use this settings to hide your information from another person. This will add them to your block list. This list is shown right on the page. It shows the person’s name that you have chosen to block. After their name, it gives you the option to Unblock this Person. To remove them from your block list, click this link. They will now be able to view your information and contact you.
You might want to unblock someone for many reasons, but it is important to remember that you blocked them for a reason, so be sure this is something you want to do before you do it. There are many different security features on Facebook that allow you to do these types of things, and it is important that you familiarize yourself with these feature for future reference. They also update and add new features all of the time, so staying on top of the latest and greatest information is also important.
Keep in mind that when you have now unblocked a user from you, they now have access to your general information, something you may not want your employers to know.
