Justin Bieber is a Canadian born teenage pop superstar who's career actually started on YouTube.  He was born in Stratford, Ontario and was noticed online by his soon to be future manager Scott "Scooter" Braun. Braun arranged for him to fly to Atlanta, Georgia to meet recording artist Usher and record demo tracks while there. They were so impressed with his demo's that he was signed by Island Records to a recording contract in 2008.

His first single titled"One Time" was released while he was still in studio recording his first album. The song broke the top 20 in both the Canadian and US charts after its release and eventually went platinum in both of those countries. It also went gold in a few other countries. Justin's first album titled "My World" reached the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100.  The former YouTube performer was now a pop sensation known around the world appearing on numerous TV shows. The second album he recorded was released and titled "My World 2.0" was also a smash hit with numerous songs reaching high on the charts not just in North America, but worldwide. He is currently still completing his 2010 world tour.

Bieber is especially popular with teenage girls and it has often lead to long lines for tickets and even crowd control issues. Fans have actually been hurt at his appearances and concerts, even leading to cancellations in the past by police. The celebrity status hasn't come without consequences as he has also been the victim of pranks and rumors, most of which have been started over the internet. His age and youthful appearance have often made him the target of many of these pranks. He is an avid use of the twitter application and has thousands of followers hanging on his every word.

Fans have also taken issues very seriously and have threatened whomever they thought were love interests of Bieber or anyone who spoke out negatively against the artist. There was even an application developed by one programmer that could be loaded on a PC so that any internet search for would not show anything related to Justin Bieber. Needless to say fans did not react to well to this and the programmer received numerous threats.

In addition to recording albums and touring he has taken the time to participate in charity events including the 25th anniversary of "We Are The World" to benefit Haiti after the earthquake this year. He sings the opening line of the song which was originally sung by Lionel Richie. He also joined with numerous other Canadian musicians in March of 2010 in a version of  singer K'naan's "Wavin' Flag" to benefit Haiti.

Justin Bieber is still very young and needless to say he has a long career ahead of him which will keep teenage girls around the world very happy.
