There are several advantages to having an SEO compliant website. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Being SEO compliant would mean extra traffic being brought to the website and making it easier for people to locate. No matter what kind of website you have, from blogging to selling to informational, it would be important to be SEO compliant.

Being Search Engine Optimized could bring extra traffic to your website. There are various tools available on the internet to help you optimize your website to be found easier within a search engine. The first tool is commonly called a SEO keyword tool. When a person searches online for a specific keyword or phrase, the search engine will bring up websites that match the words. Using the keyword tool, you can find words that describe your website that are not commonly used to describe other sites. The more words and phrases that you use to describe your website, the more often your site will appear on the search engine. This will enable more people to find and visit your website and, in turn, increase your traffic.

Another benefit to being Search Engine Optimized is that the clearer your website is and the easier it is to navigate through, the easier it is for the search engine to locate an appropriate page within your site and display it within search results. This, of course, makes it easier for people to find it from a search and use it. This is important because you want people to be able to find your website so they can use the information or services you are offering. If they find the information appealing, usually they will return.

If your website is not SEO complaint, than it is possible that once you’ve submitted your website to the search engine, they can penalize you. Search engines have a reputation too. They need to be user-friendly and work well so that they attract people to use them. If their search results are consistently leading people to irrelevant information, these people will find other places to go. Ideally, your website should be just as user-friendly and easy to use. If the search engines see that your webpage is giving irrelevant information or using keywords that do not describe your website, then it will be penalized. This could involve anything from dropping the website completely to moving it down the page so it doesn’t come up on top.

If something happens to where your website has been penalized, you can appeal this. Or, looking at the bigger picture, maybe it would be best just to work to make sure that your website is Search Engine Optimized. It would be beneficial to you.
