That which we concentrate upon, we will create. The Christian church focusing all its attention on sin and negativity has drawn it into their doors. Over time and practices of the leaders it has taken a real stranglehold on the freedom of religion for many people.
The church authority set the dogmas and creeds. The church authority wrote the catechisms and rules for its followers.
I often wonder....when the first man decided to gather with his neighbours and speak of God if he could even imagine the organization and misuse of power that would ensue? We are social beings and gathering in compatible groups is a good thing. It is when it creates separation and elitism that it is a disaster for both those who attend, and those who do not wish to be caught up in it.
There is a natural law at work here. The law of attraction has allowed the church standards to be set with the priests, ministers and heirarchy in charge of all things to do with spirituality.
If you look at Christian history you will find everything from the Inquisition to the Holocaust has focused the church to sin and negativity. In the guise of attaining property and wealth from the rich, the church would accuse them of sins against God. The sin, of course, was really against the church and its stranglehold on understanding God.
This kind of focus and belief in sin actually created the fears and controls that the church took hold of for all who attend. The priests and ministers insisted that a intermediary between God and man was necessary. This created power and position for the priests and ministers instead of trusting to the innate spirituality of the human condition.
When the soldiers came for the Jews and the Holocaust took place, where were those spiritually minded priests and ministers? They were perhaps hiding away and praying they would not be next. They even believed there were sins committed by Jews that warranted some form of punishment.
In examining this question of sin and negativity in the church, we have to ask ourselves where is God? Where is the ultimate belief in love and caring that God engenders? Where are the leaders in their stance on this love being shared and spread? Has the church become so busy in protecting its hierarchy it has lost sight of the true meaning of the church and its gathering potential?
