The facility to write, publish and even earn from online articles is something which has opened up the world of article writing in recent years to millions of people who may never even have dreamed of such exciting opportunities just a few short years ago. The number of sites which publish articles online, the different subjects to which it is possible to write and the different ways in which writers are compensated for their work means that there truly is likely to be an opening for everyone with a modicum of writing ability to mak some money from their pursuit. The most common mistake made, however, in the world of online article writing is by those who believe that they merely have to produce piece after piece of writing of a remotely publishable standard in order to thrive as an online article writer.

The wider availability of article writing markets will often by viewed by purists as a declining of publishing standards and that Internet article publishers are throwing open their doors to all and sundry. Online article writing sites may very well assist in this respect by proposing titles to which writers are invited to submit their work but even in these instances, the writer has to put their own slant on the piece and offer readers something new and valuable within the context of the subject to stand any chance of being successful.

The majority of online article writers are likely to measure their success by the level of income they generate from their article writing endeavours. The first factor which will go towards making this determination is in the way in which the article hosting site pays its contributors.
