Secrets, we all have them! we have them from our best friends. We have them from our worst enemies. When I think of the question. Should happy couples should keep secrets from each other?  I think why ruin your happiness by coming clean? Everyone has a secret. it's a fact of life. Some of these secrets are the most important piece of a couples happiness. Any couple claiming to not have any secrets are lying. To explore this subject, let us look at a few examples.

Honey does this dress make me look fat? This has got to be the most dangerous of all questions. What should one respond if indeed it does cause her to look as big as a house? Do you tell her "yes dear you look like a fat cow, lets go get dinner"? Of course you don't! This is a secret you keep in order to fuel the happiness you share.

Where were you last night? This one is not as common but still a trick question. Do you tell the truth that you were out drinking with your buddies and ended up in her sisters bed? No way! You tell her you went night fishing with Billy Bob and hope sis doesn't rat you out either. There is nothing that can destroy a happy couple faster then having her find out you slept with her sister. So you keep this secret too.

Are you ready to go to my family reunion? Do you really want to tell the truth here? "Yes sweetie I cant wait to be around your gay uncle Tony." "Sure babe I just love hanging around your mood swinging mother." Let us not forget. "I cant wait, I haven't seen your sister since I slept with her." Surely it is easy to see why these are better kept to your self.

In the end it is obvious that a happy couple is a couple with secrets. Without keeping certain things to yourself you can still be happy. You just wont be a couple. It is not human nature to accept people for all their flaws. You want to have a significant other? Keep your mouth shut, leave the skeletons in the closet and only have sister in-law over while wife is working. Then and only then will you maintain your happiness as a couple. Don't forget she is probably laying with your brother too.
