My Haunted Heart
As I sit here alone in darkness ,
I hear them
Echoing voices bringing back memories
My loves, my friends of a time long since past
They are all here
Wandering the halls of my heart
Their presence haunting me
for I am not with them, I have traveled on
but my heart still remembers.
From this here, I understand the reasons we no longer share the same place
still it doesn't stop my heart from missing them
Some of us are called to be alone
We are meant to walk the path between worlds
This path is not for everyone
For it means leaving much behind
Perhaps one day some will follow
But until then memories of their lives haunt my heart

I must have played that song
a thousand times.
