Poetry: My angel

by Amanda Labumbard

Created on: August 01, 2010

Dead among the world of the living

My cold, cruel heart, not worth giving

To someone with so sweet a smile

When every single word I speak is vile

But forever you will belong to me

Despite what I pretend to be

I know you know I'm just a fake

My heart out there somewhere is yours to take

My soul, my life rests in your hands

I hope you know I love you and

You'll be my angel forevermore

The only one I'd give my life for

You led me away from the demon inside

The demon inside me, the demon who lied

You know I'm not strong and will never be

You know who I am and you still love me

You see everything I am, everything I love

And I pray every night to whatever sis above

That you'll see me as I once had been

Before I lied, before I hid within

Myself, before you came, my angel, my light

You came, made me better and made me right
