Should you have to pay for a psychic reading

Yes you should have to pay for a psychic reading.  I have come across people who do not agree with me,  and they are usually people who are not psychic and have not had the experience of being nagged to do readings for people,  and are after free readings.

My great grandmother was a well known psychic and people came from all over to see her.  She was scared to leave her house because in those days there were no phones or computers and no way to arrange an appointment.  People just turned up on her doorstep and waited in the waiting room while she saw the one who got there earlier.   She worked mornings, afternoons and evenings seven days a week and helped a lot of people.  Many relied on her to make decisions for them and sort out their problems.

What none of them realised or maybe would have cared about is the fact that while she was seeing to THEIR problems she had no chance to get out and get a life of her own. Nor did she have the chance to get a proper job and earn money to pay the bills.  So,  she had to charge them, otherwise she could not pay for the rent, gas, electricity, water, food and clothes shse needed, just as we all do.

You could argue that it is a gift and therefor it should be free. But you are getting the person's time, and time is valuable.  There are a lot of people who are born with a gift, but they charge. The painters charge for a portrait, the singers charge to stand on a stage and open their mouth,  the footballer charges to score a goal, the musician to write a piece of music, the writer to write an article. This is no different.

I used to get people nagging me to do them (free) readings all the time.  Even if I went to a party and wanted to relax.  I found the only want to put them off of trying to take up my valuable time was to offer to do it if they paid.  They soon changed their mind. So charging is not just about needing money to live on,  it is about needing a way to stop people from pestering you for more and more.  I am sure that if the really good ones did not charge a lot of very selfish people would expect them to speak to them every single day, and the only reason they do not want to speak tao them eveyr day now is because it costs them money.

One of my friends once nagged me to give her a reading telling me that I would be "evil" if I charged her for it, as it was a gift,  and that she wanted me to tell her the numbers so that she could win millions on the lottery.  Why did she assume that I could do that?  Why did she assume that if I could do that I would not do it for myself or someone else?   Why did she assume that it was alright for her to become very wealthy through psychic abilities but not the psychic themselves?

If you are seeking a good online psychic.... and I know there are a lot of rubbish ones online who are just in it for their ego or the money,  then go to http://www.webclairvoyant.com.  It is written and run by one with a very good background, totally tested and qualified.   It also has a great chat room and a very good forum, and is free to use.
