Faith isn't something we must find. It is something we exercise out of confidence that God is a person of of His Word, and will give us what we ask for. There's a scripture which says "He who comes to God must first believe that He is God and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Heb. 11:6)
Otherwise, what would be the point? You just need to know you're talking to God and He will respond. While He grants you your requests, your reward is Him and what He does for you inside. .
So it isn't a question of finding faith, but rather, believing God instead of our own doubts and unbelief. People tend to respond to things by attaching it to something related to it - from the past. It's automatic and natural to do so.
For example, if an individual's father was unkind or abusive, it might be hard to trust our Heavenly Father. This is why we must learn all about God and get to know Him.
For me, coming from an abusive background, I had trouble believing or trusting people and this carried over into my relationship with God. It affected my belief and trust in Him. Yet, He was patient with me. God is the ultimate, faithful and loving Father!
Over the years I was forced to rely on Him at certain times; I had no other choice. Having witnessed His responses caused me to learn I could trust Him. God proves Himself to us when we rely on Him ... when we trust Him.
He may not always appear to jump on things like we want Him to, but I've also learned that he knows better than I do - how and when to answer. Every rational thing I ever wanted or asked for that was important to me, He's granted.
Prayer is simply interacting with God in general, rather than just a making requests. A person who is in ongoing relationship with Christ, arrived there by first believing He is God.
In order to enter into relationship with Jesus, a person must first believe He truly is Lord and admit it. They invite Him to come into their lives and yield control of their lives over to Him.
In the first chapter of the book of Romans (1:18-22), it states that God put the knowledge of Himself within us all, and that we are "without excuse" for not acknowledging Him. Jesus is God's provision for us to be able to have uninterrupted personal relationship with our Creator.
It wasn't until I was 16 years old that I first heard about Jesus. When I did, I knew without a doubt just from the description of Him that He was the answer. I immediately invited Him into my life to take over as
