Need some ideas for repurposing your beaded lanyards for badges from those days you worked at the doctor’s office? There so many things you can do with them other than using them as id badge holders. You might even decide it is time to purchase a few extras – just because.
You can use any variety of lanyards for all of these uses and more:
1. Nametags. At school and on field trips it is important to know every child’s name. However, in large classrooms and on field trips when volunteers will be helping with the children it can be helpful to use your old lanyards for the children’s nametags. You can prepare them ahead of time using the computer, or you can ask the children to make and decorate their own for a little extra fun.
2. Conferences, conventions, tradeshows and business fairs. Of course, you could use them for your name tag, but they are also really useful for holding the business cards you hand out and the business cards you receive while networking with your colleagues. They also function as promotional tools allowing you to display your company business logo and generating interest in your products and services.
3. Hiking and camping. Don’t lose your compass, keys, GPS system, or maps while you are on the trail. Lanyards also make it easy for you to keep a utility knife close by, because you never know when you’ll need one. When you are on new or challenging terrain, keep your hands free and carry the necessities around your neck with a lanyard.
4. Birthday party favors. Have all of the special birthday party guests make their own name tags. This is especially helpful when you have invited a large number of children that don’t all know each other already or you have parent volunteers helping you chaperone the kids. Plus, decorating and creating the name tags makes a fun activity for the kids as many of them will arrive at different times.
5.Use them on your next vacation. Lanyards help you pack along a number of small but valuable items from compact digital cameras to iPods and other mp3 players, cell phones, and metro cards and ticket stubs. Keep your hands free for taking pictures more easily and never miss that once in a lifetime shot.
6. Geocaching. Keep your coordinates and compass at the ready by clipping them to a lanyard. If you enjoy night caching then you know how important it can be to keep your bearings on your hunt. You can also use beaded lanyards for badges to carry your cell phone while you explore. If you run into trouble
while you are out, help will only be a phone call away.
No matter what activities or hobbies you participate in from hiking to gardening, there is no question that you can think of a reason to use a lanyard. They have become an integral part of everyday living for so many people.
