In the fast changing world of Google's open source Android OS, it can be quite daunting to find the perfect app. As the marketplace grows a task as simple as finding music apps gets even more confusing. However there are many useful and fun programs available whether you want a media player or just want something cool to impress your friends. Well look no further here you will find some great apps in two categories. "Media Players" and "Just Plain Cool"

Media  Players-

Wow, type that in the Market's search box and see what happens... Free apps some with five stars some with two, the headache is natural. Here are the apps to not overlook .

-TuneWiki Social Media Player-

This is a awesome app. Imagine a portable Karaoke player on your phone. Not only does this program offer playback of music stored on your SD card, it also finds and scrolls the lyrics while you listen. Now while every song may not be available, 2.5 Million and growing quite a catalog. In addition to the karaoke features of TuneWiki it also allows you to watch music videos, or stream songs through TuneWiki's SHOUTcast™ feature. Is that not enough for you? Well how about posting to Facebook and Twitter, not to mention the really easy to use Widget for quick access to your tunes on the go.

-Pandora Radio-

Prefer not to keep a bunch of music on your SD card? Maybe you are just looking to hear something new? Well Pandora is the perfect tool. You simply tell it a Band or song title you enjoy and it will create a virtual "Radio Station" full of similar artists. Well perhaps you don't care for a song it throws in the mix, no worries you can give it a thumbs down and skip it. If you love the song give a thumbs up. Pandora learns your taste and will adjust itself to your taste. It does have an occasional advertisement though they are not over placed.

-MixZing Media Player-

This one is a powerhouse of a mobile app. MixZing is full of features our laptops have gotten us use to. Feeling a certain way? Kinda sad? well MixZing's mood player will pick songs with the same feeling for you. It also offers a graphic EQ, home-screen and lock-screen widgets. MixZing even tries to be a good friend and will recommend new music.

-Just Plain Cool-

-MicDroid-

Wanna be a Pop star or at least sound like one. MicDroid brings the ever so popular autotune to your phone. The program is currently in alpha phase and the developers are improving it often. Not a perfect program yet but no doubt it is "Cool".

-Robotic Guitarist Free-

OK everyone has been in this situation. Your out running around and all of a sudden get a bit of inspiration. You left your guitar at home. Well no problem with Robotic Guitarist you just whip out your phone and whip out a tune. If that's just not enough for you to be convinced it also features a Chord guide, Metronome and Tuner. Now you can serenade the random stranger anytime you want.

Well that should get you a great start in exploring all the possibilities your Android phone has to offer. I am sure that in the future many more apps will come along that belong on this list. These for now should keep you in the listening booth and make you the envy of all your less cool iPhone carrying friends.
