I am blessed with one healthy, energetic son who manages to keep me extremely busy most of the time with his various needs and demands! I often find parents with singular children seem almost apologetic or defensive for their inability to produce the required number of siblings for their first born - whatever their reasons for it. However more and more recent reports are showing that we are not necessarily dooming are children to a life of being a social misfit.

I have not been able to conceive another child again and have now reached the point when I realise that my son is blissfully happy with the family we have and all the attention that we can give him. He's flourishing at school and is the most sociable child I've come across - he has to make friends when we're out and about because he doesn't come with ready made ones.

In our family we have all taken the situation that's was handed to us and made it a valuable gift and not a disadvantage.
