Wal-Mart is not bad for America, it is the acts that Wal-Mart promotes that are bad for America and for everyone else. The Wal-Mart store is a favorite shopping place for some people. It is large, has a variety of different products, and has low prices. This is not only convenient, but it is also more economical. Typically, there is an unequivocal division between those that choose to shop at Wal-Mart, and those that refuse to shop at Wal-Mart. Those that choose to shop at Wal-Mart value the low prices and are not trying to create a bad image. Those that do not choose to shop at Wal-Mart have their own reasons, and those reasons are so powerful that they transcend the idea of Wal-Mart as an innocent store.

Unfortunately, when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. Nothing is ever as good as it idealistically is portrayed. This is definitely the case with Wal-Mart. I used to think that Wal-Mart was just a large store. I liked the fact that Wal-Mart had low prices, and that you could find just about anything you were looking for. I enjoyed shopping there, even if I did not always think that the products were in the best possible condition. Then one day, I watched a movie about Wal-Mart. This movie showed the individuals in the foreign countries that do not get paid very well to make those products. It also showed scenarios about discrimination in the workplace, poor working conditions, and low pay. Of course, such attributes can pertain to any department store. However, this particular movie was meant to demonstrate how Wal-Mart can be a deceitful corporation. Deceitful corporations are bad for America.

Since the events in the Wal-Mart movie could be true of any store, I feel that to mark Wal-Mart as something that is bad for America would almost be unfair. Instead, Wal-Mart should work on those issue that provide it with a negative reputation. Make working there just as pleasant as it always seemed within those advertisements. That would be the first step to making Wal-Mart the idealistic store. Wal-Mart has potential. After all, a store that sells so many products at such low prices is beneficial for all of America. It is great for everyone. There will always be people that do not want to shop at Wal-Mart, but it would be better for those people to have reasons that do not involve such horrible acts.
