She peered from the box
Her nose in the air
Sniffing and smelling
She had love to share
I scooped her up
Into my arms
Her furry wet body
Now safe from harm
She had been abandoned
Alone in the street
Just a small puppy
With great big wet feet
I took her home
And made her my own
Went to the store
And bought her a bone
As I watched her walk
With her big clumsy feet
She tripped and she stumbled
She looked so sweet
So I named her Grace
Ironic you think?
I thought so too
When she knocked over the ink
But as the years passed
She validated her name
She proved who she was
With what she became
We shared many years
My graceful friend
On her it was
I came to depend
She never expected
More than I gave
And at the end
Proved to be quite brave
She saved me from waters
Too treacherous for her
She earned the name Grace
She was never a cur
A faithful dog
To the very end
Mercy, forgiveness
And beauty within

Poetry: Grace
Silence fills the air around
Peace descends within
Buried deep beneath the chaos
There's a new life to begin
Emotional exhaustion
She peered from the box
Her nose in the air
Sniffing and smelling
She had love to share
I scooped her up
Into my arms
Her
Smoothly she moves
Natural with her grace
Not making a sound
Not raising her face
Neck well defined
Black dress all that's
I'm That Girl
I was that girl
the one who gave into her lusts
that maybe you think you can't trust
the one you think deserves
Sandpaper hits the nerves again. I hit the ceiling.
I turn around and wonder what happened,
how I've fallen so far in so
