Getting fit is one of the smartest most important decisions you can make. Not only does getting fit make your near future bright, it also enhances your distant future. Most people hear "Getting Fit" and link it with new years resolutions or fad diets, but getting fit is so much more. Obviously getting fit means better health but did you know it can greatly improve your self-esteem. It's true.

Forgetting about how other people may view your new goal, this will improve self-esteem. You have to do this for you to see any results. Think about it. It's more than simply achieving a goal, this is huge. For once you'll be in complete control of your body. Sculpt it how you want it to look. Stand in front of the mirror and observe yourself. Now picture all the changes you would make to that frame. Maybe add a little shoulder muscle, maybe shave off some excess fat. Don't be discouraged by the fact that it may be hard, that can only help.

Take the first step today and in a week you'll feel like a new person. Its a satisfying feeling to challenge yourself and win. Maybe you haven't done pushups since high school. So you drop down and you can only do about 4. Your mood will change when you come back later that week and squeeze out 10. Then in the coming weeks your up to 25. Before you know it you'll be embarrassing the younger kids by doing 50 at a time. I use pushups as an example because that's how I got started. By the time I got to doing two sets of 30 push ups at work, you couldn't wipe that smile off my face. Yes, at work. It's that simple.

It doesnt have to be pushups. You can park at the far end of the parking lot purposely to walk that extra distance. If you make small habits like that you can get trimmed up without going to a gym. Do push ups and crunches at work. Touch your toes when you wake up. Do jumping jacks before bed. Drink more water. Start by adding one thing and then keep adding when you've got the hang of it. Be creative.

Eating habits play a big role in getting trim also.  Maybe get that hero with less mayo. Drink less sugary drinks than before. Maybe get the apple juice instead of the sprite. Maybe drink cold water instead of cooling off with a beer. Don't forget those snacks. Snacks are a big setback when your trying to trim your figure. Cheese doodles may be your favorite or a little debby snack, but is it worth it in the long run? Weakness can really mess up your new trim figure. And messing up your new physique can mess with your mind.
