I would imagine that people have been listening to Greenspan for so long that it would be hard to stop listening now. For one the man is a financial genius. Greenspan was born in 1926 he was born just three short years before the depression, it would be the average persons assumption that he was raised with the idea that you have to save a penny to keep a penny. It is not my contention that this man has ever hurt for a penny, however no matter your wealth in that era you felt the pinch.
Greenspan has shaped the finances of our nation for just short of two decades, you do not last in this capacity in our nation without doing your job and well. He saw the stock market crash in 1987 and has suffered through many tough decisions as federal reserve chairman. In all he has been good for our nation and we have thrived because of him. He will be missed. Regardless of who is running the federal reserve the comments that they make will effect the shape of the world economy.
Ben Bernanke has some serious shoes to fill. Not simple minded person in his own right he has lots of heavy burdens facing him with a nation at war and the Dow acting as if it has jumping beans as a chief trade. The one thing that makes him trustworthy to me is he is a history buff that takes great interest in the Great Depression. We have lots that we can learn form history and this man has not forgotten that we can learn from it. I suppose when asking which do you trust more you have to ask, does it matter? Both have held the job and they were not chosen because they were unwise. These men hold the burdens of millions on their shoulders and for this reason I believe that they both should be trusted and revered.
