Best sites for online coupons

One of the best sources for online coupons is www.couponmom.com. This website is a portal for several other good resources, including:

* www.smartsource.com
By signing up for CouponMom.com's services, participants have access to monthly listings of coupons for savings on everything from your favorite granola to coffee beans to room air fresheners.  Offers range from $1 per box on cereal... and up to $3 per package on disposable diapers... a substantial savings for any parent!  There are also printable coupons good for 25% off any item at local department stores, as well as discounts on pet food at PetSmart and reduced prices on new-release movies.

CouponMom does require a sign-up, but it's well worth the time and effort.  You will also have to download a printer driver for printing the coupons, but this is done simply and quickly and is also worth the hassle.  By typing in your zip code, you will get area-specific coupons that target products sold in your region of the country.  Additionally, there are options for paperless coupons - loaded directly onto store cards for such stores as Kroger, Hilander, King Scoopers, Ralph's, and more.  If you live in a rural area where these stores are not present, this feature may not be worthwhile, but it offers tremendous savings for those in more urban areas who shop at these stores.

One other option of CouponMom is to shop for bargains via UPromise, an online program that helps shoppers save for college tuition for their children.  By shopping via UPromise, you earn money back for college.

There are a couple of caveats to coupon clipping... whether online or from other sources:

1.  Never buy a product you would not otherwise use, just because of the coupon.  Manufacturers want you to try their products, which is why many of them offer coupons in the first place.  Brand loyalty is another reason for offering frequent coupons.  Huggies wants to outsell Pampers.  There are a lot more coupons offered for this brand, and when you can save $3 a package on Huggies, you have to consider utilizing the savings and going with that brand.  Don't buy another baby product that you don't normally use, just because a coupon was offered.  And when the product is available in a comparable store brand for less than what you can purchase the item with a coupon, toss the coupon and stick with the store brand.
