A good nude model is not as difficult to find as some people think. Nude models come in all shapes and sizes and they all come with different rules and prices. No matter what type of nude photography you are doing, there is a model out there who is perfect.
I am not personally a photographer that needs to find a nude model...but I am a nude model that has been found by photographers. I know how photographers find me, and I know what kinds of approaches I respond to and which ones I ignore. I hope to share with you some good tips for finding a nude model, and not offend or scare them away in the process.
1. Respect the model -
Nude modeling is a vulnerable thing, it takes courage on the models part. Long before I started modeling, I had a lot of respect for nude models. I thought I would never be able to do what they do. Now that I do it professionally, I realize why I respected them in the first place...and I respect other nude models even more for it. Models deserve respect no matter what genre of nude art you are doing with them, they will let you know their comfort zone when you meet...and you had better stay inside it. Asking a fellow human being to take off their clothes in front of you for the sake of your art is a big deal and must be treated with absolute care and respect. Models talk to each other, so do photographers...it is part of the business. If you come across as disrespectful, rude, or creepy you will find that less and less people will be willing to work with you.
2. Finding the model -
Model Mayhem. Model Mayhem is a website for models, photographers, make-up artists, and Photoshop artists to meet up and find each other for jobs and projects. I was being contacted by photographers within just a couple weeks of signing up, my first professional nude modeling job was scheduled within a month. Contacting a model through MM is simple, just send them a message. Some models prefer that you send them an email, but those instructions are almost always laid out in the models profile. As well as potential prices and any other information you need to find out at a quick glance whether this is the model for you. Not all of the models on MM pose for nude work, but it will say in their profile whether they do or not. No matter what website you found the model through.......read their profile. One Model Place is a good place to find models as well. Deviant Art also has nude models to be found.
Google can be a good way to search for sites like those
