In confusion our minds entwine
From the darkness into the light
Creeping, curling as though a vine
We seek each other, seek what's right
Darker shadows recessed below
Thoughts dark and life depressed
Demons we fight, shadows we know
Do we turn to that which we know best?
Decisions made through thought and tears
To love you was to let you go
Only to wait for you in years
You and I, together always, we know
We loved yesterday, as we do today
Tomorrow's love is as certain
For us, we shall together find the way
Loving even through death's shadowy curtain

Poetry: Lost love
by Olu Burrell
I think about you when I'm looking ahead
And also in moments of reminiscence
But do me a favor and don't ask me
To tell you
The man in the jacket, walking through snow,
His faithful friend, always in tow,
Forever smiling, happy look on his face,
Whatever
So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still
Do not wait for me with bated breath,
because my heart dances to and fro.
Its chambers are hollowed and empty
it longs for
As a bird perched on the edge of its nest
eyes searching the unknown world outside
strengthening its wings, yearning to fly
