Many news people have spent a whole lot of  time comparing teen pop star Miley Cyrus with the older and fiestier Britney Spears, however there is very little to compare, Miley is miles away from being anything like Britney. There are some who may feel that with all the fame mixed with the growing pains that Miley is going through, will eventually lead her down the same path as Britney.

However, while they have similarities in regards to how much they have accomplished, that is where the similarities end. When Britney made the transfer from child performer to adult performer, she was very successful, however something else happened that changed how she was viewed by everyone who expected greater things from her. With Miley, the change is less profound; she is wearing older outfits but nothing that is really outlandish or overly seductive.

With Miley Cyrus, it is believed that because she has the protection of her superstar father, she will make changes but they will be much milder than some of the changes that megastars make as they go from child performer to adult performer. The positive view that Miley has about life and her career will carry her to being a star that young girls can look up to.

Miley Cyrus has something that makes her extra special in the eyes of teenagers and oddly enough, the parents seem to like her as well. When young women aspire to be like her, mothers do not go through moments of terror they would have experienced if the daughter claimed to want to be like Britney Spears.

While no one can be sure what the future will be for America’s favorite pop star, it is the belief of most that see her that she will not take the road of many of the pop stars today. We see her testing the waters and finding herself, eventually we will see her change her look, her music and her ideals as she becomes the adult superstar she is sure to be, but America is sure that those changes will not become too outrageous.

Therefore the similarities they do share is primarily in the fact that both have accomplished a lot of fame for very young women in their short lives, they are both extremely talented and both are very attractive young women. They both look as though they will still be able to make music in the near future and both are sure to shock the nation, whether it will be good or bad is completely up to the young women and what their goals and maturity bring.
