The Strength of a Woman
The rough purple mountains seemed like boundaries, closing in around her, like a hangman’s noose.
She knew the secret
The orangey- pink sky seemed to laugh in her face, piercing her outreached hand with its fangs of society’s venom
She knew the secret
The sparse, yet tall trees embraced her like the sepals of a flower hold its embryo, and shielded her from the harsh coldness of the world for only the beat of a hummingbird’s wing.
She knew the secret
As she knelt in life’s cool liquid, energy filled her essence as the weight of the world was lifted from her and she felt vital and young again.
She knew the secret
As she snuggled down for her rest, the luscious green waves engulfed her and took her in like a weary traveler. She could feel her inner strength rolling over her and found herself, for you see – She was the secret.
