The worst movies ever

Cabin Fever, a Lions Gate film that was written and directed by Eli Roth, is by far one of the worst films I've ever seen. On the film's website there's a plethra of reviews describing how brilliant and exciting the movie is. Who are these people and under what rock have they been hiding for so long? I don't think they saw the same movie I did.

Cabin Fever is a sad attempt to take bits and pieces of what has worked in other horror films and glue them together to make another. It's a jumbled mess.

In the tradition of Friday-the-13th, five college age friends head out to a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend backwoods bash filled with booze and boobs. Most of the beginning is filled with poor acting and elementary dialog. Even the characters who are paired as couples don't intrigue the audience with their sloppy attempts at foreplay. Once a random local who is infected with a mysterious illness stumbles upon them the friends act more like toddlers than college-aged adults and end up killing him. One by one they also become infected and so the movie continues with more badly written script. A virus doesn't really make a good villain unless you involve the government, some other conspiracy, or at least an origin of the sickness. A feeble attempt to add more sex came after one of the characters had to quarantine his infected girlfriend in a barn. The other female in the group remarked how knowing she might not make it out of the woods alive made her horny and all she wanted to do was have lots of sex. If I was scabby I don't think doing the naked pretzel with another scabby guy would be top on my list of things to do. Cabin Fever was filled with many senseless activity and pointless dialog. At one point a local boy starts doing karate kicks in the air for no reason then he starts yelling, "pancakes" before running and biting one of the main characters. From where the heck the idea to have a random kid yell "pancakes" came we may never know.

Cabin Fever was so bad that I kept watching because I couldn't believe it was really happening. I would not recommend it if you want to watch an actual horror movie, but if you and some friends want to get together to bash a flick Cabin Fever would be a good pick. As one viewer online said, "Cabin Fever put the horr in horrible."
