The art of being a good host is to pamper your guests. Making them feel both welcome and at home are keys to pampering those visiting you. There are several items that you should include in your guest room to make your guests feel pampered.

Bring in the luxurious linens. Use the highest thread count you have available for the sheets in your guest room. Thick towels and wash clothes are always welcomed by your guests. Comfy comforters and soft pillows will make them feel as if they are staying in a resort instead of someone’s home.

Make sure the furniture is comfortable. An over-sized chair is great for curling up and reading a book. The chair at the desk should also be comfortable. A couch or love seat is also a great touch so your guests don’t feel as if they must always sit on the bed.

Place bathrobes on the bed for your guests to use. This will make them feel as if they are having a week-end at the spa. Make sure the bathrobes are plush, adding to their comfort.

Include a few toiletries that your guests may have forgotten. Shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and the like are easily left at home. This will keep your guests from having to run out and purchase these items themselves or asking you if they can borrow what they forgot. Be careful of allergies; baby shampoo is a good option if you are unfamiliar with their allergies.

Stationery placed on top of the desk is great for your guests. If it is an extended stay, they will be able to write letters to those back home and let them know what a wonderful time they are having. Make sure to include pens, pencils, stamps and envelopes for them to use

Fresh flowers are a great touch to any guest room. A small bouquet cut from your garden will be a welcomed bonus. Remember to replace wilting flowers with fresh flowers as needed. Again, be careful of allergies.

Place candies on a small tray. Use an assortment of chocolates, mints and hard candies to best match your guests taste. Include some sugar-free candy for them to enjoy.

Leave some information about the area on top of the dresser. This will let your guests know what sights are available as well as that they don’t need to feel pressured into spending every waking moment with you. Brochures for amusement parks, museums and other attractions are a few ideas for you to use. If they have children, remember to include information about family attractions as well.

Pampering your guests will make them feel welcome and wanted. Insuring they have a great stay is important to both you and your guests. These simple items to include in your guest room are just a few ways to make your guests feel as if they are exactly where they should be.
