It's always fun to shop for scrap booking paper but a lot of the time you get lured into purchasing more then you planned. My family owns one of the top scrap booking companies in the United States. We have always had lots of extra paper and I always make fun crafts with them. A few ideas are: Origami boxes, decorative bird houses, family/friendship blocks, magnet boards, jar liners, wall decor, and modge podge.
Find some fun paper that matches the colors or designs in a room you have. Take the paper and stick them in a 2 by 2 or 3 by 3 square on your wall. I found blue tack works best. You can also modge podge the paper to a black canvas for a modern design.
Origami Boxes:
Online you can find out how to make origami boxes. Find one you like and fold your paper into it. You can use it to put gifts in or small party favors.
Decorative Bird Houses:
Buy "build your own birdhouse kit" or a small bird house. Paint it in your desired color or design and let it dry. After this glue or modge podge the paper on the top of the bird house and the front. The color you painted to show around the edges and it will be a great decoration to put anywhere in the house. Hopefully they will end up looking like this.
Buy or make a block of wood. Modge podge or glue the paper to the block. Glue or modge podge pictures of people, places, quotes or names onto the block. The block will be like a scrapbook that represents you and your friends or family.
Magnet Boards:
If you want to brighten your office life buy a magnet board and paste some fun paper onto it. Make some magnets by buying some small magnets and clear decorative rocks. Cut the paper so it is the same size as the rocks. Glue them to the rocks and glue a magnet behind them.
Jar Liners:
One of my favorite this is lining jars. This idea is great for organizing and really simple. Cut the paper so it fits around the inside of a jar, label the paper so it says what is going to be inside the jar, then fill the jar with what is going to be inside. Some good things you could put in jars are buttons, pencils, and paper clips. This is something similar to what it will end up looking like.
Wall Decor:
Find some fun paper that matches the colors or designs in a room you have. Take the paper and stick them in a 2 by 2 or 3 by 3 square on your wall. I found blue tack works best. You can also modge podge the paper to a black canvas for a modern design.
Modge Podge:
Modge podge is the best way to attach anything to paper. You put a thin later of glue on the object you want paper to be on. Then you put the paper on top. After that put a few coats of modge podge on top so it looks like it has always been there. Modge podge paper to a shoe box a designer looking box which would end up looking like this.
