Hybrid owners should not be fined more for speeding than owners of conventional vehicles. The distinction between the traditional gasoline cars and the hybrid cars is always going to cause problems. Many people who choose to buy gasoline cars do so because such vehicles have worked for years. They understand that the rising gas prices and environmental pollution is a problem, yet they do not necessarily feel that purchasing a hybrid car is the best way to solve it. They may be worried that the hybrid cars will have problems that are not discovered during the early years of development. They may also worry that hybrids will only represent a temporary facade. Therefore, when a problem arises with the hybrid car, it will not be easy to fix the car or to find parts for it. Some individuals also may not understand whether or not the combination of gasoline and electricity will truly be valuable to the car. Nevertheless, although the popularity of hybrids has increased, not many individuals own hybrid cars. Hybrids may operate differently than traditional vehicles, but there is no reason why owners of hybrids should be fined more for speeding.

Hybrids are different from conventional vehicles in the way that hybrids use both gasoline and electricity. This increases the gas mileage of the car. It also means that the car does not need gas as often. The decrease in the amount of gas used is also beneficial to the environment. Nevertheless, the hybrid is the more economically friendly car. When driving a hybrid, it works the same way as a conventional vehicle. It is not easier to speed in a hybrid. There is no reason why driving a hybrid should force people into paying more money for speeding.

Many people may not agree with hybrids. They value the traditional vehicles and do not think that people should be forced into purchasing hybrids. In a way, fining a hybrid owner more for speeding is a demonstration of why people should not be forced into buying hybrids. Such an idea is more vindictive than it is sensible. It is fine to not want to own a hybrid car, yet owners of hybrid cars should not have to suffer for such opinions. Also, fining hybrid owners more for speeding provides the wrong message. People are supposed to want to own hybrid cars. The hybrid cars are more economical and better for the environment. Not liking the hybrid car is a personal decision, and that is all it should remain.
