The key when buying a macbook is to ask yourself, "is it worth the price?". Once you have answered that you can move on to the next challenge, the money. Most every distributer has some kind of payment plan you can set up with them that will fit you budget, but if your like me, and like to hit it all in one go, thats not really an option. The following are a couple ways to get that cash to get that golden apple into your hands.
The first is to look around and ask yourself, "what can I part with?". You would be amazed how many people want the stuff you are done with. I have been able to not only finance a computer doing this, but tons of other impulse, need to have things. So once you have decided your done with that old wakeboard and even that crumby windows pc, you can move on to finding your buyers. I think the best way to do this by far is the internet. Places like ebay are perfect for this, but can be a lot of work. I prefer sites like craigs list and ksl. They are just a couple that are free to post to and are localized to areas so you don't have to ship it. So go ahead, take a couple pics of your not so exciting to you item and post them out there. Another option is to put it in the paper. Even as old fasioned as it is its still effective, and sometimes they cut you a way good deal for advertising.
Another way is to cut back on the things that usually take away that extra spending money. I saved 2 to 3 hundred dollars a month by not eating out and holding back on the sodas and candy. I do that for a couple months and that puts me within range of my baby. Ypu have to take a good look at you daily routines, find the things that are hacking away at your income and eliminate the things you really don't need. For example you probably don't REALLY need that new Xbox game. You probably could live without that new pair of shoes. Whenever you do that just jot down how much you didn't spend and you will begin to see just how much money you have leftover just by limiting yourself a little. A big one I realized just recently is drinks. I have seen my friend pile up 50 dollar tabs no problem with a night at the bar. Remember your giving up the small insignificant things for a great thing in life.
Long story short, there are a lot of ways to gather that money for a mac, you just have to find the one that works best for you.
