Anyone with a modicum of online marketing knowledge would say that SEO and quality content are paramount to online success. SEO or search engine optimization is the practice of improving the visibility of a website on the search engine page results (SEPRs). Quality content means a valuable, unique and keyword rich content. SEO is what helps you generate decent web traffic to your website and quality content is what makes that traffic stay or come back to your website.
It is interesting to note that quality content is actually an important part of SEO. As I previously mentioned, the aim behind SEO is get exposure on the search engine ranking. And one of the prerequisite to getting high rankings is having quality content. Therefore, SEO and quality content are closely related. In fact, in my vantage point, SEO is solely about content and I will explain why in the course of this article.
As you may know, link popularity and link authority are important parts of SEO. The search engines decide on your ranking based on the number of quality back-links your website has. If there are many websites linking to your website, then that’s a sign that your website is very valuable. As a result, the search engine gives it high ranks. And if there are many authority websites (for example .GOV websites) that are linking to you, the authority these websites have on the search engines are passed to your website. The result again is higher rankings.
What helps you get link popularity and link authority? It is the content you have. For example, when you have seen something unique online, you immediately think about sharing it with your friends or people you know. This sharing process is what creates back-links. Many people will recommend that unique thing to other people on their websites or blogs. That’s how link popularity and link authority is created.
But what actually created it? It is the unique thing people wanted to share. In other words, it is the content. By content I mean any forms of content whether videos, images or articles. Content is what creates link popularity and authority. Therefore, SEO is just about content.
Content creates back-links for your website and generates many visitors to it. Without content, you won’t just build back-links, but you won’t drive targeted visitors again and again to your website either.
In conclusion, content is the most important element of SEO. Anyone wanting to succeed online must have quality content on his or her website.
