Back in the day, people bought black and white logo's by texting a code to an expensive service, and they put the received logo as a wallpaper on their cellphone. They were satisfied with it. In this century, any new cellphone bought is capable of displaying pictures in color and people love to put colourful wallpapers on the background of their cellphone.

What did not change compared to the time the cellphones came out, is the expensive services still offering wallpapers instead of logo's now at ridiculously high prices, but luckily there are websites out there that offer wallpapers for your cellphone for free. That's right! In this article, I'll show you three popular websites that offer thousands of wallpapers for your phone.

= Zedge =

Zedge is, with 17.570.909 registered users, the leading website in background and fun stuff for your cellphone. They offer tons of backgrounds nicely divided into categories such as games, babes, news & politics, logos, abstract, pets & animals, entertainment, hunks, comedy, nature/landscape, music, drawn/cartoons, people, technology, designs, anime, bollywood, love, auto & vehicles, other, signs & sayings, spiritual, holiday/occasions and sports. Other stuff Zedge has to offer are themes, ringtones, games and movies for your cellphone.

= Mobile Heart =

Another great website to get a new background for your phone, is Mobile Heart. At the time of writing, Mobile Heart is offering 4591 background, and counting. You can search for background designed for a specific cell phone, or you can search for wallpapers that will fit the size of your cellphone screen. You can choose between 128x128, 176x220, 240x320, 360x640, 320x480 or 240x400. Just like Zedge, Mobile Heart divided the wallpapers in various categories such as nature, abstract, miscellaneous, flowers, animals, love, games, flags, logos, art, cars and bikes, cartoons, sports, Islamic, landscapes and places and fun.

= mobile9 =

Almost seven million users came to mobile9 for their background fix. The website asks for your phone model, and then shows wallpapers designed for your phone model. I did not find categories though, but you can enter a keyword of your choice and mobile9 will find a wallpaper you'll like. Not only do they offer wallpapers, they also offer free themes, ringtones, games and other free stuff, around one million items at the time of writing. You can also upload and share your own stuff with the mobile9 community, or create your own wallpapers and ringtones with the tools they offer.
