This is the much anticipated sequel the first movie and I got siphoned into seeing it with my girlfriend, as long as she was willing to see Predators with me. In a nutshell, this movie does not even count as a movie in my book, and my girlfriend actually agrees with that. No fun for anyone.
PROS: Almost none. I got suckered into this movie because I was promised witty banter and funny punch lines. My girlfriend likes that I have an open mind for all movies, but I got nothing out of this. The only Pro is that at one point you get to see a line of sweet Maybach luxury cars. That is more than any girl got out of this as I am told that the fashion was crap. Very Disappointing overall. Oh! I thought of one more, another pro is that my girlfriend hated it so much I know I wont ever have to watch it again.
CONS: It is hard to even describe everything that is wrong with this movie. Ill do my best. Sex and the City the tv show is no doubt popular and the cast has built careers around it, but after this, oh man. That is the end game for them I am thinking. I hope this isn't what the TV show is like, cause this actually physically painful to watch. Zero plot, terrible acting, complete gaps in story line, and it evoked a general disgust for the entire package.
The movie is essentially following a bunch of snooty rich women around as they deal with non life problems and expect us to care.
Oh no! Your nanny is good looking and you don't know what to do. So lame. Who can afford a nanny?
Oh no! You're getting older. Dumb. Everyone gets older, that isn't real conflict.
Oh no! Your marriage makes it so that your night life is boring. Pathetic. Your will inevitably dwindle...your married.
Oh no! You have a mean chauvinistic boss. Who cares, get the hell out of that company and go somewhere else. This is literally all the conflict in 100 words or less.
I found it hilarious that even within certain scenes, the women changed clothes all of the sudden. They had different clothes on so often that I forgot who was who, and I didn't really care. The blatant lack of respect for other cultures was just killing me. They travel overseas at one point, and i thought this supposed to take place in New York, from the title. It generally takes up half of the movie, in a whole other continent. All of this is forgivable if it added to the movie, but takes away in flying colors and the scenes set away from the city made me cringe at how blatantly disrespectful they were being. For shame.
