One of Facebook's most well known application games is FarmVille by Zynga. Zynga is an independent, third party application that Facebook supports. The application requires the latest flash in order to properly run and is recommended to be played on the latest Firefox browser. One of the most frequently asked questions on their game site is on how to adopt lost animals.
The annoying thing about the adoption events are that you are the one who will find an animal, but you cannot adopt it. You must post it on your profile, which will then get cluttered. This is an event on FarmVille that occurs when you are planting crops, collecting from animals, or even staying idle for a while. A screen pops up and tells you that there is a lost cow, goat, cat, alien cow, black sheep, horse, stallion, turtle, turkey, and whatever else you can think of since there are constantly adding more animals.
In order to successfully adopt a lost animal, you must allow FarmVille to install on your Facebook Account and this is done when you first play the game. Once a player, you now have access to anyone's Farmville feeds, which are are events they have posted when prompted to do so while playing. The feed is viewed at the homepage of Facebook, once logged in. Posts are seen on the feed are worded as something along the lines of so and so has found a lost animal and will prompt you to click to see if you want to adopt it. This is the only way to adopt the animals. You must remember the rules of it. There is only one animal per event, therefore, if someone else clicks on the feed first, you are out of luck.
Here are three valuable ways to get a lost Animal:
Friends
Have a lot of friends who play FarmVille and continue to check their profile page and your feed whenever you log on. It is time consuming, but worth it if you want to adopt a lost animal. The more friends you have the higher your chances of finding a feed that has found a lost animal.
Facebook Groups
Some of us aren't lucky enough to have a lot of Facebook friends that play FarmVille, but there some FarmVille addicts out there who will accept your friend request in order to progress further into the game. Simply search for such groups in the Facebook search engine and join them. Keep in mind that these are total strangers you are adding and you may wish to put them on the Limited Profile list, which will be available upon the confirmation of the friend request. This allows you to view their feed, but does not let them view your personal information.
Refreshing the Feed
Always refresh your homepage, doing so will increase your chances of finding a prompt for adopting a lost animal. Remember, you want to make sure you are the first person to click on that prompt so keep a constant eye out for it.
Overall, its about patience and timing. Sometimes, it helps to talk to the groups about letting you know they have an animal up for adoption. Every player of any experience can adopt a lost animal, so you don't have to spend time leveling up if you don't want to. There are no requirements for adopting a stray animal on the prompt.
