Her warm brown eyes just searching for peace
An end to her misery
Humming machines and hospital food
A place she didn't want to be
A wrinkled hand squeezed mine
Holding on, unable to let go
Shiny new caskets lined up on the wall
A final resting place
Mourners sadly singing hymns
Mumble the songs
The bitter winter air fills my lungs
Unable to breath, left frozen inside
I felt her warm hand, now gone cold, void of life
I found the strength to let her go
