A trail of tears fall from my eyes,
a heart is broken...wonder if it can survive?
My soul is empty without you
why were there no warnings we were through?
A trail of tears fall from my eyes
this hurt is such a sorrowful surprise.
You walked away without saying goodbye
someday these tears will stop and dry.

Verse I:

I thought our hearts and souls were intertwined,

a love sealed eternally to live and to never die.
A home and a family were in our long-term plans
as butterflies surrounded and kissed our hands.  

Verse II:

Our nights were full of hopes and dreams,
we wished to make them real and supreme. 
Our goodnight hugs and kisses melted my soul,
now I'm left with this darkness and an empty hole.

Verse III:

A trail of tears fill my eyes throughout every day
as I struggle to make it on my journey of dismay.
My broken heart will heal and it will come in time,
this trail of tears will cease to ever be mine.

I'll let  butterfly kisses tend my hurting soul
until the scars mend and I'm made whole.
I'll wonder through lush meadows and dry my tears
as I permit happiness and love to heal my fears.
