Wouldn’t it be great if you could earn a living while working in the comfort of your home?  Just imagine all the savings on gas, clothing and childcare!  Sounds like a dream?  Well it is not if you know where to look!

There are many different types of jobs you can do from home and still earn a nice living.  Be sure to choose something that you truly enjoy to ensure your success.

Customer Service

Until recently, many companies would outsource these positions overseas to save money, but more and more companies are now offering these work at home positions within the United States.  A few good companies to check out are:  Alpine Access, 1800Flowers, Hertz and The Home Shopping Network.  If you have a clear speaking voice, positive attitude and enjoy talking with people, this may be a great match for you.

Telemarketing/Appointment Setting

If you are more of a sales-type person, a Telemarketing or Appointment Setter position may be the answer for you.  If you can call businesses and set-up qualified appointments with the company’s decision makers while earning an hourly rate, this may be a great option for you.  One great company to check out is Blue Zebra Appointment Setting.

Writing

Another great way to earn a living while working from home is writing.  There are numerous sites that pay per article such as Helium, Text Broker, Constant Content and Hub Pages.  These sites will require you to write a lot in order to earn a living, but if you are looking for a few extra dollars per month, these are excellent ways to earn! 

You can also write for other online or offline publications that pay higher amounts.  If you have an interest in a particular topic, find publications that would be a good fit and check out their submission guidelines.

Child Care

Do you love children or have children of your own that you would love to stay home with?  Becoming a child care provider may be the perfect fit for you!  Many families would much rather place their children in private child care than the commercial centers for various reasons.  Check out what the local day cares are charging in your area and charge a bit less, place an add and you are ready to go!  Just be sure to check the laws for your state and city, each state has different laws and regulations, be sure you are operating legally.

These are just a few ways that you can earn an income while being in the comfort of your home.  You will have the flexibility you need for your family and still contribute to the household income!
