Gone are the days when writers were consigned to getting those ideas to the publishers of their choice via query letters and the SASE (Self-addressed stamped envelope). These days, thanks to the internet and the advances in modern technology, a writer can submit his ideas electronically via email attachments. Yet, writing is a profession; consequently, it should behoove any serious practitioner of the written word to operate as a professional when corresponding with an editor of the publications or online media that he or she has an interest in selling their work. Furthermore, creating your own life as a writer requires understanding the guidelines of those publications or online media that you would like to submit your articles to.
