What we should remember about Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson was, in sales of records the greatest musician ever. Throughout four decades he performed, from the Jackson 5 to the This Is It tour- 50 great concerts to mark Michael Jacksons step off the musical stage, 50 because he were 50 years at that time- to his tragical death just months before the concerts.
The concerts were sold out minutes after the announcement of Michael Jackson in the start of May 2009. The concerts would have been world class; if you have not seen “This is it” you should definitely rent or buy it and go see it. I saw the movie trice in theaters, and I got goose bumps of the incredible talent of him. He will always be a person that we all admire, I will remember him throughout my life as the great man he was, not only for his music, but also for his person and character, and his help to less privileged people. I still remember the 25th of June, waking up hearing from my mother that Michael Jackson had passed away. I was in a state of shock, and I was deeply saddened for the week after the news.
Michael Jackson’s music wasn’t just some quickly written texts; it was music with a meaning we could all back him up on. I knew that from the first time I heard Billie Jean.
Throughout his impressive life Michael Jackson sold over 750 million albums, with the album Thriller being the world’s most selling album of all time. He made hits such as: Billie Jean, Beat it, Smooth criminal, Thriller, Off the Wall, Dirty Diana, Rock with you, Bad, Invincible, Dangerous, Jam, Heal the World, You Rock My World, You Are Not Alone, and the more recent song: This Is It, from 2009.
Although you might argue songs by him are all hits. That is true. The way he combined dancing and singing is unique, as the innovation of his music videos. I remember each video clearly, one of my clear favorites being the video of “Smooth Criminal”, a video combining great singing and choreography, and also features good acting.
A recent film, “This is it”, provides never seen before rehearsal footage of Michael in London. You should go see the trailer, even if you have seen the movie, it is truly amazing.
