Dancing is not for everyone.
It is most intimidating for those who dare venture near the dance floor and even more of a challenge to express “in print”; hence, the Dance Channel maintains a quiet dignity, standing alone and apart from its sister channels.
For those who have never experienced the world of “dance”, it is highly recommended that you take a few basic dance lessons, then partake of a dance social before deciding if this unique craft satisfies your appetite and desire to write.
The passionate dance-related writers will find the following a mere review.
THE TOUR
The Dance Channel is divided into five categories:
DANCE PAGE: An overview of the categorical titles and articles within, plus a photo of the Dance Manager who helps keep the Channel and its members on the Helium radar.
DANCE EDUCATION: Are you a dancer or an instructor? Know the best studios for taking lessons? Please share your experience and knowledge through an amazing article for your fellow writers to read, rate and share feedback.
DANCE STYLES: A variety of genres and for every age group. What’s YOUR flavah?
PERFORMANCE DANCE: Share and compare. Have you done a showcase, participated in a dance competition or, attended as a spectator? Perhaps you have an opinion regarding the professional world of dance.
DANCE (Other): The “melting pot” for articles of a general nature, including biographies.
END OF TOUR
Like dancing, writing is a learning process. The below “food analogy” will give new writers some insight as to the basic structure of an article.
Appetizer: The opening (grabber) sentence or paragraph of the article. This should lure the readers and stimulate their appetites.
Entre: The content. What message do you want to send your readers? Tell the facts, give it “flair”, but keep it real and believable. Most importantly, does it WOW your readers?
Dessert: The conclusion. Something your readers can take away with them.
Scan the articles within the Dance Channel to get an idea what the writers are expressing, as well as their rating status.
A good dancer and dance-related writer “lives it, breathes it”. Stick only with what you know. Select the dance category(s) you have the most knowledge, expertise and will be totally comfortable
