Essays: Self awareness

I always dream of castles and princes, fairies and elves, of angels when I was young. Truly believing these magnificent creatures were true and real. I slept with them in my reveries, hoping to catch a glimpse of what's their world like. I held these dreams in my heart until I was a teen then little by little my dreams crumbled down. I am no princess, I am no fairy and my life is not a fairy tale. I am nothing but a confused teen-ager in a chaotic place called "Earth". Was trying to find myself exploring everything from drugs, alcohol and sex. I made my escape for a while, exulting in the sensation that blocked my sanity, and after the false bliss I felt I was being dropped to the black hole again and again which I didn't want to be a part of. Is there any hope for me? Will somebody save me? The answer is YES! This is not a hopeless world we live in, that's the reality that I found out. There are lots of people out there who care, who truly care. I was saved by one of them. I can be one of them saving lives instead of the being the victim of my own folly. I can be an extending hand to spread love and acceptance to people who are lost like me. Ah life! When are you going to stop giving us surprises? The irony of it is I want to live in the midst of all this. Life is sweeter when you're living it to the fullest, when you know how to be sad and happy, when you know how to be a loser and then emerge as a winner.
