FILM ONLY REVIEW

In British North America in 1845, a young Thomas Logan watches the man he believed to be his father killed by his friends father, he seeks revenge and kills Victor’s father with bone claws which appear out of his hands. On his death bed, he tells Logan that he is really his father and that James is his brother. Victor and Logan decide that they will stick together as they both have these powers and they run away. We see both brothers travel through the years defying death and fighting the wars and then joining the Army.

Victor has a devilish streak and tries to lead Logan astray but this soon lands them both in trouble and they are sentenced to death by firing squad but this does not kill the men so they are locked up. Whilst being locked up they are visited by Major William Stryker who asks them to join his team of mutants who are working to rid the world of evil and they both agree. They set to work and soon find they are killing and being ruthless again which Logan is not happy about. Logan leaves the team and gets himself a normal job and wife and is happy again.

It is now 6 years after Logan left the group, but his past is going to come back and haunt him as Stryker visits him and tells him how the other members of the group are all being killed and he wants Logan to try and help him find out who is behind it all. Logan wants nothing to do with it until his wife is murdered so he then seeks out Stryker and agrees to hunt the killer down, unfortunately he discovers that the killer is his brother.

Logan has to undergo extensive training to be able to kill his brother but is all as it seems of does Stryker have other plans for Logan, names Wolverine by his dead wife?

The plot summary which I have given may seem a little long but don’t think I have given away too much of the film as this really is only the beginning and the film really starts once Wolverine takes the job of chasing his brother.

I have seen the X-Men films so I was keen on seeing this one too as I wanted to know how Wolverine became who he is now and I have to say did thoroughly enjoy this film and thought they did the character justice with the past that they gave him. The storyline was very good and quite detailed and of course Hugh Jackman playing the role was an added bonus for me!

Hugh Jackman did an excellent performance as Wolverine and he showed so many different sides to his character. I enjoyed seeing how he dealt with being a mutant and how he tried to
