Poetry: Content

by Steve Marshall

Created on: July 23, 2010

Disgruntled contentment is unmeant to be.
Contentment should be easy for all to see.
Resentment masquerades in a newer style.
The intentment of resentment is all sterile.

A tormented life is spent yet discontented.
The extent of repentment allows new love.
Circumventing events to find their intent,
stops us being content within the present.

We can never be content in having more.
A door to contentment is closer to explore.
Only by loving who we really, really are,
opens us to love, not as ignored, as before.

The richest of us all, are content with less.
The poorest are never content with more.
Being content is never spent in life wanting.
Contentment comes from loving all as it is.
