We all lie. It doesn't matter the gender. If animals could talk, they would lie also. Women seem to over complicate things so we put more focus on why men lie. I am guilty of this more times than not. Men don't seem to put as much focus on little white lies as women, nor do they spend time focusing on lies and where they went wrong to make their mate lie. We, as women spend our time analzying the situation and trying to figure out why everything happens as it does.

I used to think my husband lied intentionally. As the years went by, I began to realize he was just trying to survive. He wanted to avoid confronation at all costs, and he didn't want to hurt my feelings. The best way he knows how to do that is lie and hope he doesn't get caught.

When anything is backed into a corner, they are going to do what it takes to defend themselves. They do whatever it takes to get caught. Men fear emotional pain. They don't want to cry, they don't want to hurt. Sometimes, they just don't always make the best decisions.

They are like little kids. They just don't want to get in trouble. I can watch my husband do something simple like throw his clothes in the floor. I will confront him and he will swear on my life he didn't throw his clothes in the floor. best, I can figure, he thinks if he tells the truth, he is whooped or something silly like that.

They may fear the outcome. Most men seem to believe that it is better to ask forgiveness than permission. They know they are in trouble no matter what so it is best not to attempt to explain.

Some men want to impress us. They brag about what they don't have, pretending they do. They invent conquests so their buddys think they are cool. This type of liar is more than likely self esteem related.

So how can we, as women prevent these lies? We can not. We can help cut back on them. Invest in a full lenght mirror. This knocks out the middle man in the "how do I look?" situation. Don't watch your man's every move. Give him a little bit of space. Don't rely so heavily on what you think he may be hiding. If his lies are the cheating kind..you should have broke up with him before you started reading this article.

Work heavily on communication skills in the relationship. The more your mate trusts you, the easier it is for them to be honest around. Don't be the type of person that can't handle the truth. Encourage your mate to always be as honest with you as you are with them. Hold up to your end of the bargain also.
