Becoming Us as Spirit
Our spiritual development is based mainly on how we perceive and what we believe spiritual development to be. How can we develop or grow a healthy spiritual life if our beliefs and perception of what it’s suppose to be are clouded or misguided? We can’t, not if we hope to really live a healthy life here on earth.
To begin, we look at what is the meaning of being, or, what does it mean to be Spiritual? The answer to this question is truly not an easy one. For to know and be Spiritual is many things. For instance being a Spiritual person could mean; the act or instance of being spiritual, Ethereal, of great power and wisdom. To be one with the Spirit, the Higher Power, God. It is giving and sharing your love of life. Nourishing yourself spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionaly, because each one of these has something to do with the make up of who and what we are. Some people think of being Spiritual as looking for a way to be free of organized religion. To prophesy that being good and kind and caring, harming none is better than the concept of being told how to worship who to worship. This shows two completely different concepts on what Spiritual Development involves. It involves not just the black and white of who we are but how we became. We can be one or both. Just because we are only on e, religious or spiritual, doesn’t mean we don’t believe in both. Being Spiritual means embracing and accepting the fact, we are a part of the All of Existence.
What is Spirit? Spirit is our life essence. It’s what connects us to the universe and all other living things. It’s the voice within us that encourages us to smile, laugh and love. It is the light that shines in our eyes when we hold a new born baby and the tears we cry when we loose someone we cherish. Spirit is the power within us to heal our deepest wounds, both physical and emotional and the power that guides us when we loose our way along our path as a human being. Spirit is within all living things, the animals, the trees, the wind, the earth, us. Spirit is the core of who we are.
How do our spiritual beliefs affect our daily lives? It plays a huge part in how we deal with life’s daily challenges. What we believe as far as society, morals, ethics, right and wrong are strongly affected by spiritual beliefs. Our spiritual beliefs connect us to the Divine, our Soul, our Essence.
Again we must realize there are different meanings
