Is religion the root to all evil?
Religion is the focal point of any community and it sways the ethical and moral attributes of the society it represents, it becomes a standard for the community, their life and religious teachings.
But the determining factor which we all overlook is the difference in religious beliefs.
We fail to understand that these differences become or can become more than differences, they can become hatreds or causes for one community to become alien or in opposition to other communities.
Yet to say that religion is the root of all evil we must examine not only our religion but also ourselves.
I have chosen to write in favour of religion being the root of all evil because I have identified a fault with all religions.
The basic doctrine of all religion is love, but how easy does it become, for say a Christian, a Muslim or a Jew to show love to each other?
The religious upbringing of each individual community creates a division between men because their beliefs are different; for example the Muslims worship Allah, yet Allah is simply the Arabic word which identifies or praises ‘The God.’ But the word Allah becomes an identification of a God worshipped by a different religion and the observer refuses to acknowledge the dedication.
The Muslims too, are not without their fault, it seems as though if you suggest they worship or identify ‘God,’ they object that the Western understanding of the word God denies what they believe about “The God,” suggesting that the English word could be associated not only to one God but several Gods, and they refuse to accept a common identification. (Edward Neale – Facebook - 2009).
But other religious organisations, or should I say, ALL RELIGIOUS ORGANISATIONS are equally bias towards different religions and suggestions which may relieve the tension, the animosity, the fear or the hatred.
But if the underlying message of all religions is “Love your fellow man,” why do religious organisations fail to comply with the idea?
Is the idea unacceptable or is it that because we are individuals with individual beliefs we refuse to accept the inevitable and divide ourselves from others?
I said, and you will agree with, is that the basic doctrine of all religions is love; why should it become so difficult for those of different religions to accept different men?
Is it because we do not believe in the same things they do, because they are different
