I saw the look.
I was all my son ever had. I raised him alone for years.
But now I was leaving. And he wasn't.
I saw the look, saw into my son's eyes.
I saw his heart breaking, and felt mine break with his.
I was moving away, he'd never been without me.
I drove down the street, watched him in the mirror.
I made a turn and stopped the car.
Put my head on the steering wheel.
Will my Son become a Man?
He did...

And fail to recognize the self reliance is limited.

I take friendship with caution.

Of all your needs from day to day
Without any need for you
