When I left you I was a young man.
I had no reason to believe I'd ever come back.
I've been all over this country, city after city; town after town.
I never could get close to you though.
It just wasn't meant to be, my career couldn't bring me anywhere near you.
But like a light beckoning, I knew you were out there.
I knew deep inside, I needed to find my way back.
Suddenly a glimmer of light inside my heart.
It's been over 20 years
But I'm coming back home.

Fall to the ground
Sifting through dirt
All those lies heard
Drowning in hurt
Tried to cover the ears
To stop all the pain

Hope dawns

Hope dawns

by Sarah Terzo
When I'm trapped in slate black

with the sunken mattress, molded

When I'm counting
Starless night,
Here I lay,
Skin and bone,
My soul stolen away.
Smothering within a blanket of desolation,
Suffocation
