Georgia May Set Election Records
Last nights primary elections spoke volumes, Georgia voters said they want a change. These changes may set records for Georgia. We could see two firsts in the same election! These new changes will be exciting for our state.
In the first category, Karen Handel is the Republican candidate scheduled for an August runoff against Republic opponent Nathan Deal for Governor. If Karen wins her bid for Governor, she will be Georgia's first woman Governor.
Karen Handel was an underdog coming into this election. Many said she didn't have a chance and the on going polls reflected this. Karen's “Bring It On” attitude has served her and her supporters well. Karen Handel is a strong and dedicated woman who has paved her own way to success in what was a choppy beginning from the age of seventeen. Karen overcame her adversity to be the stong Republican candidate she is today.
Regardless of the political adversities Karen faced in her earlier government positions, she said Bring It On” and tackled many difficult jobs most of her adversaries gave up on, succeeding time and time again. Karen says “There is no job to big or to little, that cannot be done”.This Bring it on attitude is what Georgia needs to make her great again.
The second record in the making is Carol Porter's vie for Lieutenant Governor. Carol was another underdog who didn't stand a chance. She is a newcomer to politics with no political experience. As a newcomer, Carol's hit the ground running.
This 51 year old mother of four and small business general manager could be Georgia's first woman Lt. Governor. At first no one took her candidacy seriously, after all she had no political experience , and most thought it was a ploy to get votes for her husband, Dubose Porter, running for Governor.
They were wrong! Carol took her candidacy very seriously. As a small business operator of a struggling company, Carol knows first hand the importance of building a better job market in Georgia. Carol is tired of the same ole same ole mishandled government with poorly run leadership, that has caused our failing economy.
These women are right, It's time for a change in Georgia! These strong and dedicated underdogs could lead Georgia to many firsts while leading Georgia out of her slump and to a better tomorrow. Neither candidate took no for an answer when they decided to run for office and they will not take no for an answer when faced with Georgia's struggling economy and failing school system. They will take no for an answer when they lead Georgia to victory!
