How to tell if you are being exposed to dangerous chemicals

The Dangers Of Chemicals In Our Society

You and your family are exposed to toxic chemicals everyday. Some of these exposures you may not even be aware of. We are all exposed to toxic chemicals in the air and dust we breath. The food, water and products we use.

Plastic is one of the biggest dangers, it is what we are exposed to the most. You put yourself in grave danger of toxic chemicals when you heat your food in the microwave using plastic dishes or heat your babies bottle. Look for microwave safe dishes, the FDA

( not that I trust them) regulates plastic used in microwave dishes. If you are cooking at high heats or extended periods of time you would be safer cooking your food in glass or ceramic containers.

Most of our homes use plastics for floor coverings as well as vinyl for wall coverings. For your floors choose wood products when you have a choice. For your walls go with a lead free paint.

Plastics buried in landfills can leach harmful chemicals in the soil that eventually filter into our ground water. Contaminating our drinking water.

Many of our foods contain antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, fertilizers and have been genetically altered. You wouldn't do this to your body, so why would you want it done to the food you feed your family. When possible purchase locally organic grown food. Many communities hold farmers markets on the week-ends, usually around the towns courthouse. Check to see if your community has a farmers market.

Hazardous chemicals are polluting the air we breath. Hundreds of chemicals are being released on a daily bases by the companies making many of the products we use in our homes. Think of the PVC emissions being released making shower curtains or the pipes we use to supply drinking water to our homes. We also contribute to the air pollution when we clean our homes. Many of our cleaners contain harsh chemicals or toxic aerosols.

If you do not believe these chemicals are having an effect on our society, just look inside one classroom. How many of these children have Autism, Bi-Polar, Cancer and or ADHD just to name a few? There are hundreds in one school district. Now multiply this for the state, triple this for the nation and quadruple this for the world. How many learning disabilities or childhood illnesses are caused by the chemicals in our world? There is no doubt in my mind that our over usage of chemicals, hormones and antibiotics are causing learning disabilities, diseases and untreatable illnesses.

Only we can stop the over usage of chemicals, hormones and antibiotics, because the companies making and using these chemicals would lose to much money if they admitted what these toxic chemicals are doing to our children, our families, our neighbors and our precious world. If we all agreed to make small changes it would make a huge difference in the air we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat. Together we can make a change. I'm game to make changes are you?
