Final Fight One was originally made in 1989 by Capcom as an Arcade Beat'em up. It was highly praised for perfecting the Arcade Beat'em up games throughout the video game industry. When it was ported to the Game Boy Advance, Final Fight One received just as much praise for its interactive and exciting gaming experience. This game is a must have for all Game Boy Advance owners because of its exciting gameplay and extra bonuses that were not seen in the original Capcom Final Fight One for the Arcades.
The story plot of the Game Boy Advance version of Final Fight One remains the same as that of the Arcade version. It is the same game, after all. The game takes place in a fictional setting in America, Metro City, where Mayor Mike Haggar, a former wrestler, has recently been elected. He plans on taking out all the crime in the city, but in response the Mad Gear gang kidnaps his daughter, Jessica. The gamer chooses between three characters: Cody, Guy, or Mike Haggar. Cody is Jessica's boyfriend, Guy is Cody's Ninjutsu master, and Mike Haggar is a wrestler.
Co-op is available for players to team up with a friend to take on the six intense levels of fighting together. Gamers travel all the way from the slums Up Town while fighting a boss after each level in order to save Jessica in the end.
The greatest thing about Final Fight One is that there are multiple ways of fighting. The standard side-scrolling beat'em up game involves only a punch and a jump, but Final Fight One allows the gamer to toss enemies, use weapons, and fight with an assortment of exciting combo moves.
Furthermore, there are added cutscenes between levels that were never there before the Game Boy Advance port that draw the gamer into the game even more. Unfortunately, like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of Final Fight, the Game Boy Advance version censors all the alcoholic references throughout the game. Even the women that fight as enemies within the gamer are deleted in order to make Final Fight One a much more kid-friendly game.
Although Final Fight has been around for over twenty years, it is still a very much playable game that holds its inescapable allure to draw gamers in. The port, Final Fight One, is a must have for all Game Boy Advance users.
