What we do not understand we fear. What we have not experienced we fear. We are often inundated by information from the media that helps perpetrate fears. Other times, it is friends and family who help create illusions of fear that are often based on their fears. No matter in what form it comes fear is something people have lived with since the beginning of time.
Isaiah 41:13 - For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
In his book, Conquering Fear, Harold Kushner writes, “More than eighty times in the Bible, God tells people not to be afraid (usually translated as “fear not”).” It seems that God must continually keep reminding his people that all is well and that there is really nothing to fear. The odds are that neither of these disasters will happen to most of us during our lifetimes, and to worry about them is fruitless and unnecessary.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

In this current century, however, there is a great amount of information available that can assist in understanding the causes of some illnesses and the ways to help prevent them. There are also many common-sense lifestyle changes that could curb the onset of serious illness. The body is a temple; it should be loved, respected, and honored.
